Prayers in our Life

Bismillahirahmanirahim…
Unlike the famous words quoted in the movie Forest Gump:

‘LIFE IS LIKE A BOX OF CHOCOLATE. YOU WOULD’NT KNOW WHAT YOU’LL GET’

I shall say it like this:

‘‘LIFE IS LIKE A BOWL OF ABC (THE ICE SHAVES)…’’

Ok. Even though chocolate is my favourite, a bowl of ABC topped the chart (aha…just had it just now), especially when its heavenly flowed with milk. Then the best part of eating a bowl of ABC is finding out what did the vendors put as the base. Jelly grass, kidney beans, buah kabung, selasih, nuts…you name it. Erk.. why am I talking about ABC here? Luckily there’s no ice shaving machine in the kitchen… oh. I miss HS Café ABC.

Our life is indeed full of surprises. But the important thing for us to carry around to protect ourselves from any of those surprises ( be it good or bad) is du’a (prayer). As a quote always said “ AD- DU’A SILH MU’MIN- prayers are the weapon of the mu’minuuns.”

There are 3 categories of du’a to be ‘answered’ and granted by the Allah SWT:

1)It shall be answered right on spot/ at that very moment. For example in the story of a merchant who were attacked by a bandit on his way and ask permission to perform a prayer before the bandit wishes to do anything to him. Right after he gave his salam, a man (an angel send by Allah SWT) riding a horse killed the bandit with a sword.

2)It shall be answered/ get it in jannnah. There are indeed things that we could not do on this world as a test by Allah SWT. But the patience Insya Allah shall be rewarded in jannah.

3)Rewards upon our patience. Sometimes, we did not get of what we pray/ want. We do sometimes think why such problems and burdens are given to us but remember… test and obstacles are the signs of His love towards His Servants.

There are also a few things to be remembered in making du’a. It is the human nature to wish for the best in his/ her life. Big houses, big cars, handsome/ beautiful partners, trillions of money in our account and being a CEO in an organization. But it is better and more appropriate to pray for Him to give us the best as Allah SWT knows what is the best and suitable for His servants.

In a story book that I read, a group of schoolmates write their wishes for a company to make them come true.

1)Character A: Wishes that she is a millionare but it is only after her accident that she is granted with a $1million insurance…to cover her treatment for her blindness and damages.

2)Character B: His wife wanted him to smoking but he was trapped in a situation created by the company ( they made him looked insane and have to seek treatment of a lifetime at the asylum).

There are few more characters but even though it is only a storybook, it reflects of what we are facing every day. There are people who ask to be rich but obtain it through riba’. There are people who are proud of their beautiful faces and silhouette figures but forget to ask Allah to give them strength to cover it.

p/s: Gerak hati kita untuk berdoa & terus berdoa adalah taufiq dan tanda doa kita di terima. Kadangkala ada sebab mengapa kita ‘terlupa’ untuk berdoa untuk sesuatu…

Allah Knows Best…
